iPad headphone lesson learned

With continuous student use of iPads an accident is going to happen... with individual iPads, students were plugging headphones directly into the iPad headphone jack.

with varying quality of headphones being used- the plug of a student's headphones broke off inside of the iPad headphone jack. :(

iRepair Solutions was able to remove the broken piece, but unfortunately the headphone jack no longer works. Fortunately the iPad sound does periodically (the sound inconsistently states headphones are plugged in and will not emit sound).

In an attempt to prevent future breaks, I purchased headphone splitters for each individual iPad. Students plug their headphones into a jack on the headphones splitters when using their individual iPad with headphones or each partner plugs his/her headphones into a jack on the splitters when using the iPads with a partner and headphones.

The headphone splitters remain plugged into the iPads and are only removed during charging.

Lesson learned:)
