non-standard measurment

The First Grade Butterflies were learning about non-standard units of measurement.

Using the Notability app on the iPads...
-the Butterflies imported a measurement recording sheet from our class iPad MATH shared Dropbox folder into Notability
-the Butterflies worked with a math partner to estimate measurements in non-standard units and record estimations
-the Butterflies worked with their math partner to measure the object in the non-standard units
-partners recorded their measurements using the camera capability in the Notability app
-partners inserted, resized, and organized photos into the recording sheet to document measurements

After completing, the Butterfly math partners saved the learning into each of their individual Dropbox folders (which can be accessed and viewed by each student's parents) and emailed the learning to me (teacher).

spelling- Cimo iPad app

The first grade Butterflies are learning to hear, identify, and read-write the sequence of sounds in unknown words.

The Butterflies worked cooperatively and collaboratively with a word work iPad partner to sequence sounds to spell unknown words in the Cimo Spelling iPad app.

Partners alternated in moving the "ice block letters" in accurate sequence- explaining his/her thinking and identification of the sound within the sequence of the word.
