The Butterfly Mathematicians have been exploring the attributes of shapes and learning to identify, compare, and contrast shapes by sides and points.
The Butterflies explored shapes on a geoboard using the Geoboard iPad app!
The first graders created shapes by name (ex: "rectangle"), created shapes by attributes (ex: "3 sides and 3 points"), and defined shapes by attributes (ex: "I made a trapezoid. It has 4 sides and 4 points with 1 short and 1 long side and 2 diagonal sides").
