2:1 student iPad organization

The greatest value of student iPads is the capability to individualize the content within an app for each student and the capability to individualize apps available to each student.

With a 1:1 student iPad ratio, individualization is simple... you individualize the iPad to the specific student.

With a 2:1 student iPad ratio, individualization is not so simple... but it is possible!

Thirteen iPads in a classroom of twenty-six students= two students per one iPad.

organizing student iPads
Each of the thirteen iPad cases will be "numbered" (1-13) to identify the iPad. (Exactly "how" I will number the cases has not been determined. I will share how I numbered each case after I receive the cases and determine the best way to "number" each individual case.)

Two students will be assigned to one iPad.
A photo of the "iPad partners" will be taken and used as the background screen on the iPad as an additional form of identification.

A document listing each iPad number and the assigned iPad partners will be created and used as a reference to individualize the apps and app content on each iPad relevant to the iPad partners.

Student iPad partners will not be assigned prior to the initial 4-6 weeks of school. Once assigned, iPad partners will be consistent for management of apps and app content on each iPad.
During the initial 4-6 weeks of the school year, students will be introduced to the iPad and specific apps with a variety of partners.
Utilizing the initial 4-6 weeks of the school year to introduce the use and care of the iPad, introduce apps, and most importantly learn about, identify, and recognize each student as an individual learner and person will provide me with the understanding and knowledge of each student to effectively create iPad partners.
